A Journey to Tommy Thompson Park

Tommy Thompson Park is one of those hidden away places that few Torontonians even know about. Located on the banks of Lake Ontario this park is a bird lovers paradise. Created to protect the shores of downtown from erosion this park was artificially created using concrete and other building material from demolished buildings. Overtime nature took over to turn it into wild gem of this city. and now you can find hundreds of birds such as cormorants, ducks geese. and many others on its shore. Wildlife that I have seen also include ferrets and rabbits. A multitude of flowering plants and trees flourish here.This slender park has vistas looking out over downtown as well as other parts of Toronto’s shoreline. It is one of my favorite places to wander.

Tommy Thompson is one of those place you can actually enjoy and watch how everything changes as the seasons change too. It is one of the nicest places in Toronto to enjoy a bit of nature in the heart of this Wonderful city.

      Tommy Thompson is one of the best places to visit. I still find it stunning that Toronto has so many pristine parks right in the heart of the city!!!
