Humber Bay Park An Amazing Park on Toronto’s Shoreline
Spend some time going through Humber Bay Park and enjoy the views of Lake Ontario and the cityscape near it. The park is located on the shoreline of Lake Ontario and between the mouths of the Humber River and Mimico Creek. It consists of two landspits the eastern part of the park is 47 acres while the Western side is larger at 300 acres.The park has a very recreational focus and is used as such by the residents of Humber Bay.
Humber Bay Park was developed by the former Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority with 5.1 million cubic metres of lakefill at a cost of 6.56 million dollars. It includes the planting of Carolinian trees and shrubs, the establishment of wildflower meadows, butterfly habitat, warm-water fish habitat and wetlands.
Humber Bay Park is also a popular destination to view migrating birds. The park has amenities like trails, beach front, picnic tables, fly casting and model boating ponds and a fishing pier and other watersport facilities. It also has a memorial for the Air India Flight 182.
